If you’ve ever wondered, “Could my allergies or asthma be caused by mold?” — you’re not alone.
At The Allergy Suite in Novi, we provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for mold allergies in both children and adults. Mold spores are a common trigger for nasal allergies, asthma, sinus problems, and skin reactions, yet they often go unrecognized.
Our board-certified allergist specializes in identifying whether mold exposure is contributing to your symptoms — and creating an individualized plan to help you breathe easier and feel better year-round.

Common mold allergens include:
Symptoms can resemble those of other allergies but often worsen in damp environments or after rain. You may notice:
For some people, especially those with asthma, mold exposure can trigger significant breathing difficulty or flare-ups.
At The Allergy Suite, we perform focused allergy testing to identify whether mold is a trigger for your symptoms.
Testing options include:
Because mold allergies can contribute to asthma and chronic cough, we often perform pulmonary function testing to assess your breathing and measure airway inflammation.
Our trained staff will guide you step-by-step through the test, helping us objectively determine how your lungs are functioning and whether mold exposure is affecting your respiratory health.
Once your triggers are identified, your allergist will design a personalized treatment plan, which may include:
