The Allergy Suite

Your Child's Asthma Care
Starts Here

Begin Your Path to Better Breathing

At The Allergy Suite, we know that caring for a child with allergies or asthma can be stressful — especially when symptoms begin early in life. Our board-certified allergist and dedicated staff specialize in evaluating and treating infants, children, and adolescents with allergic conditions and breathing problems.

We see patients as young as infancy, and our gentle, child-centered approach helps even the youngest patients feel calm and safe during their visit. Parents often tell us how smooth the experience was — our staff are exceptionally kind, patient, and skilled at working with kids, and we rarely see any discomfort or anxiety during testing.

Asthma & Allergies
In Children

Allergies and asthma often go hand in hand. Both are part of a group of conditions known as atopy, which includes eczema, environmental allergies, food allergies, and asthma. Many infants who start with eczema may later develop nasal allergies or asthma — and early evaluation can help prevent worsening symptoms.

Common signs your child may benefit from seeing an allergist include:

  • Chronic or recurrent coughing or wheezing

  • Nasal congestion, runny nose, or frequent sneezing

  • Persistent skin rashes or eczema

  • Symptoms that flare up after being around pets, pollen, or certain foods

  • Difficulty breathing during play, sleep, or seasonal changes

By identifying triggers early, we can help your child breathe easier and feel better — now and in the years to come.

What to Expect at Your Child’s Visit

From the moment you arrive, our team focuses on making your child feel comfortable and secure. Whether your child is an infant or a teenager, our staff will explain each step and move at your child’s pace. Your child’s visit may include:
  1. Comprehensive History & Physical Examination We take time to understand your child’s symptoms, environment, medical history, and family background.
  2. Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) For children old enough to cooperate, we perform gentle lung function testing to objectively measure how their airways are functioning.
    • Our staff will guide your child through the breathing steps in a calm, encouraging way.
    • For younger children or infants who cannot yet perform a PFT, we focus on detailed history, physical exam, and clinical assessment.
  3. Allergy Testing (Often Same Day) If appropriate, we can perform allergy testing during your child’s first visit.
    • Skin Prick Testing: Detects sensitivities to common allergens such as pollen, dust mites, pet dander, or certain foods.
    • Intradermal Testing: Provides additional detail if needed.
    • Patch Testing: For selected cases involving skin contact reactions.
All testing is done using pediatric-appropriate tools and techniques to ensure comfort and safety.

Our Pediatric Approach

We believe that every child deserves medical care that feels safe, kind, and positive.
At The Allergy Suite, we:

  • See patients from infancy through adolescence

  • Encourage parents to stay with their child at every step

  • Explain procedures in gentle, age-appropriate language

  • Use distraction, encouragement, and smiles to make the experience easy

  • Celebrate bravery and make the visit a positive memory

Our pediatric patients — and their parents — often leave saying:

“That was much easier than we expected.”
